About EWP
The horse community focuses significant time, energy, and resources on equine nutrition, but little attention is given to the most important nutrient in a horse's diet: water. In show barns across the country, water for the horses is not routinely tested for purity and is usually sourced from hoses that may not be kept in a hygienic location or appropriate manner. Why should horses, who are treated in every other way as the elite athletes that they are, consume water that most humans would not consider fit to drink?

Equine Water Project was founded from a love of horses and concern for their welfare. In conducting and publishing water quality tests at horse shows, we hope to improve access to clean, healthy water for our equine partners.
